We have gone and come back from our first long weekend away as a family and survived! After an obscene minimal amount of packing, a two-hour delay on the expected departure time, off we went to East Sussex. Our first day trip was to Rye, a small town which is in fact quite a popular with tourists. And it is easy to see why!
Just a warning if you plan this trip with a baby. Cobbles, small tea rooms and narrow streets do not go well with a pram.. Take your baby carrier - and you may be able to eat in one of the pretty cafes!
Rye is beautiful! Well done for managing a trip away with such a teeny one!
ReplyDeleteI hope you were still able to have a great time! Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautiful place to visit.
ReplyDeleteBoo to confined places! Glad you had a nice away
ReplyDeleteLife with a baby presents unique challenges doesnt it :)
ReplyDeleteLayout of stores, locating lifts vs stairs etc...
But the location is lovely and snuggling with baby in a baby carrier is always fun.
Lucky you! Looks like a lovely spot. I spied a peek at my low volume squares in your project ; )
ReplyDeleteCute architecture and ambiance! Glad it was a success and not too stressful. Thank goodness for baby carriers.
ReplyDeleteAh - it's a very long time since I visited Rye! It's a lovely little town - thanks for the trip down Memory Lane! Glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, thanks for sharing. Good for you to have made such a nice trip!
ReplyDeleteAgain something no one tells you (or maybe they do and as expectant parent you don't believe them). Everything takes at least an hour longer once you have a baby.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures.
Wow - it's years since I visited Rye. So lovely that you had your first family outing :-)
ReplyDeleteOOHH....can I live in Oak Cottage???
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming place!
ReplyDeleteRye is lovely - but not pram friendly. I'm glad you had a nice break - hope you found somewhere to eat!
ReplyDeleteI'll try to do my best to make your spring day trip to Brussels lovely!
