And life can resume...

Monday, 28 April 2014

You may have noted some serious lack of blogging (and commenting) lately - we've been busy. It all started with our holiday back in March. I said to Mr MiH that I did not mind waking up in the not so nice rental holiday flat because of the view. When at home, we could have a nice garden view, but to be honest it was a bit of a state.

Forward a couple of weeks we were finding inspiration for small gardens and making a rough design of what it could be.

Mr MiH believes in doing it himself (everything - even building a shed). All good but it takes time - sometimes a looonnnggg time. So I said ok for DIY but we take a week off and we do it seriously. My parents came over to look after Baby MiH for the first part (not easy when all he want to do is get involved) an he was at nursery for the second part (the rainy, muddy part).

Who knew it wa so hard to clean up a garden and make it bare again! Of course, it has not helped that our garden is loaded with pebbles and half of my time was spent 'purifying the earth'.

Mr MiH has goy rid of the lawn, again for such a small patch, it took forever - well 3 days. But on Sunday, it was finally done, and new lawn is on, green and healthy!

So phase 1 is over, except that you cannot tread on the lawn for 6 weeks and it needs a lot of attention during that time. Now is time to take care of the flower beds and hedging - my favourite part! All ready for the summer.

Do not worry, this blog is not about to become a gardening one - but as this has been my 'craft' for the past 8 days, and I am really proud of Mr MiH work (I am only his aide when it comes to gardening) I thought I would share it here! Some of my knits have progressed but more on that in te course of the week.

Are you ready for Le Challenge?

Tuesday, 12 March 2013

In our pre-baby waiting hours, we dreamt up a new challenge open to all crafters – not just quilters, knitters or else. A theme would be set for all to interpret in their choice of crafty weapons.

Fast forward 3 months and we are ready to set the theme for the first Le Challenge on Friday 15. There is a blog, there is a button, and there are two lovely (huh huh) organisers with wild ideas about themes.

Le Challenge
<div align="center"><a href="http://le-challenge.blogspot.co.uk/" title="Le Challenge"><img src="http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z475/Lucy_Brennan/lechallengebutton2_zps18ffdfca.png" alt="Le Challenge" style="border:none;" /></a></div>

So how does it work?

On the 15th of every month, we will set a new theme for you (and us) to be inspired by.

Your homework should be in on 15th of the following month. One theme, one month. All crafts, sizes of projects welcomed, in fact the more varied the entries are the better.

To inspire you even more, some lovely sponsors will offer giveaways and every entry will be put in a draw.

So what do you reckon? Are you ready for your first Le Challenge? The theme will be announced on our blogs and Le Challenge blog.

We will be posting on Le Challenge regularly so be sure to check out the blog!
