One tree is done, the next one (which is the bigger one) is shaping up nicely, I have the third one to start on. My trees are blatantly oval less round than the original pattern - I blame it on the linen fabric, and not my inability to count the threads whilst watching the Games.
I have left the bottom out on purpose as I am not sure what to do with the little squirrels and how long the trees should be (a very boring bit to stitch to be honest). The squirrels may be cross-stitched in grey. Will have to see when I get there. I have also omitted the hearts (you can see there is a sort of hole above the two birdies) - again will need to see the finalised cross-stitch and make a decision on what to do, how much energy I have left for some more cross-stitching.
It is Really Random Thursday over at Live a Colourful Life and I thought I would share with you some inspiration from Stephen Hawking out of his speech at the Opening Ceremony for the Paralympic Games 2012:
"Creativity can take many forms, from physical achievement to theoretical physics.
However difficult life may seem there is always something you can do and succeed at."
