This is an interesting exercise - because of the stitch used but also because I never had my own patterns tested - it is all based on my notes. I do not make any money out of them either - so it is more about sharing a construction.. So it is interesting to see the directions given, the feedback expected, the details - what you can and cannot do. And of course, it is great to be part of the overall process!
I am hoping to finish it over this weekend, and model it!
That is a gorgeous stitch :) Look forward to seeing the finished hat.
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous! Can't wait to see the finished hat.
ReplyDeleteShe is a fabulous read. I didn't know her name was Libby, LOL. This hat is a great way to practice smocking it looks, something I need to try.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it pretty. Such a soft colour too
ReplyDeleteLooking lovely Nat! The colour is edible :)
ReplyDeleteI found test knitting to be the best thing I could have done for writing my own patterns. It taught me so much about what a good pattern could look like, but also taught me about what my preferences for layout and style would be. You also learn how invaluable getting your patterns tested is. Even when you proof read three or four times, mistakes still get through. Another pair of eyes is always welcome!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Nat.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a knitter but this looks really pretty (and quite hard)
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting stitch! Can't wait to see how it turns out!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's finished :)
