Simple love {quilting}

Friday, 15 February 2013

My pack of low volume charms received as part of the LVswap organised by Rebecca Lynne is finished. I was not sure what I would make when I entered the swap. But after some blog stalking research, I found inspiration here and here. And here is simple love - the quilt.

Since yesterday, I added quilted in red around the heart. I have thought hard about the quilting, and decided to keep it simple. I may change my mind later, but for the time being I am quite happy with it.

 Here is what I used for the quilt..
1. Liberty bias tape found here; 2. and 3. The low volume fabrics I sent as part of the swap; 4.  Fabric I won from Plum and June Giveaway; 5. cannot remember the fabric (anyone); 6. Kona Red fabric

To hang it, I used an idea from a blog I cannot remember the name of (but if you know who you are, please let me know!).

And here we are the perfect quilt for a Valentines Day photoshoot of Baby MiH. The quilt is in fact not really my style - it was done purely for the photoshoot (thank you cards for presents we received) and practising my piecing .. Should it be a giveaway?

Simple love has now made it to Annabella's home in Marrakesh

Charming LV {Quilting}

Wednesday, 6 February 2013

I have finally got a chance to use my low volume charm pack received as part of the LV swap organised by Rebecca Lynne. I have never done a quilt using charm squares - why oh why? It is perfect when time is limited, and you can achieve great contrast with a small number of colours - an it uses up some of the bigger scraps lying around.

This project will probably use up most of the charm squares I received as part of the swap. Some red squares will add some interest.

I am surprised at some of the low volume fabric choices - I was probably more conservative in my understanding of low volume fabric. It works though, so all good!

And the winner is...

Sunday, 11 November 2012

The Charm Pack Giveway is now closed. Mr MiH was in charge of choosing the winner, the old fashion way. Many thanks to those who took part and all your sweet comments.

There can be only one winner, and it is: Alyce at Blossom Heart Quilts. Congratulations Alyce, I just sent you an email and your charm pack will be on its way soon!

Sorry to all the other participants, I intend to run another giveaway at the beginning of December, so come and check it out!

Charm Pack {Giveaway}

Monday, 5 November 2012

Here we are, I am officially on maternity leave and I am THE snoozing machine (dixit Mr MiH). I have not been a lot over the weekend except sleeping - and again today. Is that what maternity leave is like?

However I did manage to get together a very special charm pack - the one made of Baby MiH's room fabrics (some that I have used, will use, or was going to use but decided not to but still love). Some of my favourite designers are there: Lotta Jansdotter (of course), Rashida Coleman-Hale, Leah Duncan..

The charm pack is made up of 20 different fabrics, two charms of each fabric so a 40-piece pack. I put some solids that go with the overall theme.

So here is how the giveaway works. You can enter the giveaway up to 3 times:

1. You need to be a follower - leave me a comment and let me know how you follow my blog - if you are a non-reply blogger, please leave your email address
2. Tweet about the giveaway and let me know when you have done so (or tweet me @NoasLibellule)
3. Like my facebook page, and come back and let me know

The giveaway is open until Friday 9 November until 7pm GMT. Good luck everyone!
