I saw this cushion from Depeapa, and knew I had to make one. The cushion is not expensive, but I am embarking on a massive destash project (more on that later on the blog) and had enough fabric to make (a lot of) similar cushions either in this colour scheme or another one - at a fraction of the price.
As you can see on the left-hand side I tried to match the fabrics I have with the actual colour scheme of the Depeapa cushion. However I know that this cushion will not go with anything in my house, even though I like it as a stand-alone item.
I tried to go for another mix of fabrics that he will better suited to Baby MiH's room - where I actually need more pillows - and I am quite pleased with it. But it does not say summer as much as the other colour scheme does.
I actually got a feeling I will be spending more time trying to work out the colour scheme than the actual sewing of the pillow. But I cannot wait to have this cushion in my house!

What a fantastic idea! I can't wait to see the finished project.
ReplyDeleteThe orange works with the blues and looks summery/nautical to me. Great idea to use their design.
ReplyDeleteI like them both but I am partial to a bit of orange! Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great design. It's always nice to know us quilters can make things at a fraction of the price we could buy them for!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing the finished article
ReplyDeleteI prefer your colour choices to the original!
ReplyDeleteGreat planning. Very neat to see what inspired you and how you'll make that layout your own.
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice trying out colour schemes. I love the way you do this and I also love your choice.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you on IG too:)
I like both of them. And I love the way you're recording the process in a book :)
