I have seen versions of the Grainline Scout Tee many times on blogs and I was never convinced. And yes, it is right up my street, with simple lines and curves. And I don't even have to go for flowery fabric like the one it is presented in and could easily stick to my blue/grey tones. But I never felt like sewing it.
That was until I saw the below simple version - inspired by Madewell and using Jen's (from Grainline) tutorial. The tutorial is so well-written and documented, it is worth reading just to learn how a simple garment could be beautifully altered!
Kelley from Casa Crafty made her version using Tula Pink Fox Field - a 100% cotton fabric. How cool does it look?
It still looks a bit short for my body shape and that may be an alteration I would have to consider. But here is too adding one more thing on my sewing to-do-list!
