Pattern Picks | BT Wool People Vol.7 {Knitting}

Thursday 1 May 2014

You go 'off grid' (ok not at all, but as it meant not checking regularly my emails or social media for a week - it was totally off grid for me) and you know what happens? Brooklyn Tweed publishes a new volume of Wool People... I felt like I missed a big event in my knitting calendar, although to be honest this is not the greatest volume.

Don't get me wrong, there are some lovely garments in this issue, and of course the editing is so beautiful, but still there is something lacking. Still I managed to find some favourites...

The Pente cardigan is totally up my street in terms of style. I love the colour scheme chosen for the shoot - and of course the model is totally gorgeous in it. I will have to knit this, should be super easy to wear any time.

Seine - another cadigan - has also caught by eyes. I think we will see a few of those knitted by bloggers. Simple with the right amount of ornament - I guess you may have to be careful with your choice of colour to ensure that the cable work really shows.

Merle is not my usual style but I do love the vintage and boyish look of it. Not sure this is the one for me - but happy to be proved wrong... And I know there are many Amy Christoffers fans out there that will be keen to knit it!

A tent silhouette it says, and I am thinking this could look terribly wrong on me - but the cable work on the side reminds of a few tops I have in my wardrobe which are super flattering. Decision, decision... May wait to see other people knitting Arabella before making my own..

Also is it just me or Nimbus is looking very much like Quill, in a shawl version? What is your favourite?

  1. I'm on the fence about this collection as well, although I really like Pente. There's also something about Coda that appeals to me. BT always has amazing styling and their color choices are spot-on, so I've been tricked into shapes that don't look that good on me before. :)

  2. I agree. This isn't their best collection. You've pulled out the sweaters i'm interested in knitting. But, I'm not sure they jump to the top of my priority list.

  3. I love the look of Merle - it makes me wish I could knit! I feel as though my style is gravitating more and more in a mesnwear-inspired direction lately and that cut is right up my street at the moment.

  5. It looks gorgeous. Is it an actual book or an e-book?

    1. Carla, I added the link on the post - so you can link up - it is an ebook.

  6. Can't go wrong with an a-line cardigan like Pente.

  7. I just love seeing a model with grey hair - of course the knitted goods are lovely but that first model has distracted me. The Pente is my fav.
