Blue-eyed boy {knitting}

Friday, 22 February 2013

It is a finish but not my finish - but as the model is mine, I get to post about it! Just be ready for some serious cute poses from Baby MiH - he was on form that day!

I did not knit this, one of my friends did (and she really needs to start her own blog, yes you do my dear!) - but she did provide some feedback on the pattern... I can only comment on the sizing.

- Pattern: Debbie Bliss duffel coat from Essential
- Modifications: a fold in the hood
- Yarn: Debbie Bliss Rialto in shade 024
- Size: 0-3 months
- Feedback on the pattern: according to my friend this is super easy to knit - really straightforward for a beginner.

We love it here! The yarn is beautiful, and so soft! It is easier to put on the coat thanks to the stretching of the garter stitch. The fold in the hood is definitely needed as it seems that the hood is quite big.

Did you see the little pocket?

I was very surprised this was knitted in a size for 0-3 months. Baby MiH fits only in 3 months+ (yes, he is still only 2 months), and this is still a bit big for him (although it is easily resolved by folding the sleeves). It will grow in this one which is great.

A very happy Baby MiH indeed!

  6. Bliss patterns run big, but then, that means they have more time to wear it. Roll up the sleeves and who cares if it's a little long in length, babies will always grow into it. The coat is darling, but the darling is cuter!

  9. Nat, these are the most adorable pictures!!! I mean those eyes, that face, he is a perfect model! And the color of the coat could not be any more perfect to suit those eyes! The coat is also super-cute, I was actually looking at this pattern for my sister's baby (she is due in 2 months).
