The inspiration is a COS angora beanie - styled here by Coline. It is not available anymore, so you may have to knit one..
This is a simple knit, rather long as I used 3.5mm needles (I know, I don't do small but the knitted fabric is just so beautiful). The yarn is knitted in double, and marks my reconciliation with Rowan kidsilk haze (steel #664). I probably used a little bit less than a ball.
I love the top of the beanie, and this is the fun bit of this knit. I will write the pattern and post it some time next week. I would like to make a gauge for you guys - just in case your don't have the stamina of knitting in 3.5mm.
It suits Caterina so well (to be fair she did choose the colour and she is quite an expert in styling!) - much better on her than on me! We are working on our next project together, so stay tune guys!
gorgeous hat! Did you knit with the yarn doubled?

Love the hat!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the pattern - it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I don't suit hats but quite like knitting them!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! Just about everything I knit includes Kid silk haze. I love it, especially when combined with other yarns, so this pattern will definitely find its way onto my to make list.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could wear a hat like that
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Looks so cozy.
ReplyDeleteYou did a lovely job. Looking forward to seeing your next collaboration ; )
ReplyDeleteCaterina looks stunning in your beautiful beanie!
ReplyDeleteI always envy someone who can wear a hat like that. On me they look like a tea cosy!! Such a pretty grey colour too!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful hat. It makes we want to continue practicing my knitting so that one day, hopefully sooner than later, I'll be able to make something like it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collaboration! 3.5mm is definitely manageable for me, though. But men's socks on 00... Now that's a nightmare (that I have in my possession). Anyway, such a lovely beanie - looks lovely and soft... And sounds perfect for single/leftover balls of lace silk mohair!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty. I imagine it is like wearing a warm cloud on her head.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The crown details are lovely, I think I'd knit them for all the short people I know so that everyone can see the whirlpool!
ReplyDeleteGreat. I love the spiral of the decreases. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very elegant, and cosy too.
ReplyDeleteThat hat is beautiful and I just love your rhubarb tart!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo simple, and yet so very stylish. It is beautiful!
